"The Napier remains popular despite the onslaught of gentrification"
Michael Harden Reviewer
The Napier Hotel is located on the corner of Napier and Moor Streets in Fitzroy and is a local corner institution. At The Napier you will find great food, wine and music as well a great spot to watch the Football. Have a beer or wine in the front bar, eat some great food in one of the dining rooms, escape to the beer garden or sit by the open fire during a cold winter night.
The Napier Hotel first opened in 1866 and 130 years later in 1996 The Napier was taken over by Guy Lawson – an escaped bandit from Adelaide. Lawson – born into pubs in Adelaide by his father, had previously run the Great Britain in Richmond and the St. Andrews Hotel, before assuming the helm at The Napier.
